Citroen has officially unveiled pricing and specifications for its latest C3 Aircross, a compact SUV that stands out with its affordability and an optional seven-seat configuration.

A Second-Generation Redesign with a Global Platform

The new C3 Aircross enters its second generation, built on Stellantis’ ‘Smart Car’ platform—a foundation originally designed for emerging markets such as India and South America. This architecture is shared with the recently launched Fiat Grande Panda and Vauxhall Frontera, reinforcing Citroen’s strategy of cost-effective, globally adaptable vehicles. Additionally, the new C3 Aircross shares strong ties with the latest Citroen C3, with its electric variant costing only £1,000 more than its smaller sibling.

Competitive Pricing and Feature-Rich Trims

Citroen’s aggressive pricing strategy makes the e-C3 Aircross the most affordable electric SUV on the market, starting at just £22,990—undercutting the Vauxhall Frontera by £500 and even costing less than the upcoming Renault 5. With its spacious design and practicality, it presents an appealing option for families.

In addition to the electric model, petrol and mild-hybrid versions are available, priced from £20,240 and £23,740, respectively. The lineup is split into two trims: Plus and Max, with the latter commanding a £2,000 premium. Unlike the Frontera, the C3 Aircross includes alloy wheels as standard, alongside a 10.25-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reversing camera, and climate control. Opting for the Max trim adds LED rear lights, a black roof, blind spot monitoring, and heated front seats—all for less than the base Nissan Qashqai.

For buyers requiring extra passenger space, petrol and hybrid variants offer a third-row seating option for an additional £765. Orders are now open, with first deliveries expected in late summer.

Design Inspired by Citroen’s Future Vision

The influence of Citroen’s minimalist and functional Oli concept is evident in the C3 Aircross’s design. Its sleek yet practical aesthetic aligns with the brand’s latest design language, featuring a distinctive lighting signature that will be seen across upcoming Citroen models.

A notable similarity between the C3 Aircross and the Vauxhall Frontera is their shared structural and technological DNA. As with the standard C3, the Aircross incorporates Citroen’s innovative ‘head-up display’—which projects instrument readouts onto a reflective panel atop the dashboard rather than onto the windshield, offering a unique twist on conventional HUD technology.

Powertrain Options: Petrol, Hybrid, and Electric

The C3 Aircross lineup includes internal combustion, hybrid, and fully electric options, providing flexibility for different driver needs. Notably, the entry-level petrol version is unavailable on the Frontera, making it a Citroen exclusive.

Petrol Variant: A 99bhp 1.2-litre turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Hybrid Version: A 1.2-litre petrol engine integrated with a 48-volt electrical system and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Electric Model (e-C3 Aircross): A 111bhp electric motor powered by a 44kWh LFP battery, offering a range of 188 miles. Thanks to its 100kW DC fast-charging capability, the battery can be recharged from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes. A longer-range variant, capable of 250 miles per charge, is slated for release in 2025.

With its combination of affordability, practicality, and diverse powertrain options, the new Citroen C3 Aircross is set to make a strong impact in the compact SUV segment.
