Volvo has officially unveiled the EX30 Cross Country, an adventurous iteration of its highly successful small electric crossover. In its debut year, the standard EX30 recorded an impressive 98,100 sales in 2024. This new Cross Country version enhances the vehicle’s rugged appeal with features tailored for drivers who crave weekend adventures. While it comes equipped with standard all-wheel drive, an elevated suspension, and all-terrain tires, it remains more of a capable explorer than a hardcore off-roader.

Rugged Design with Enhanced Capability
Mirroring Volvo’s Cross Country gasoline models, the EX30 Cross Country adopts a more robust exterior with black cladding, new skid plates, and exclusive 18-inch wheels nestled within pronounced wheel arches. While its suspension has been lifted, the increase is modest—just 0.7 inches over the standard EX30. The rear suspension has also been fine-tuned with softer springs and adjusted damper settings to improve handling on rougher terrain. These changes make it well-suited for light off-road adventures while retaining the refined driving experience expected from a Volvo.
Impressive Range and Performance
The EX30 Cross Country is powered by the same 69-kilowatt-hour battery pack found in the standard model, with a usable 64-kilowatt-hour capacity. This energy source drives dual electric motors producing a combined 422 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. On a full charge, it achieves an estimated 265-mile range under the WLTP cycle, though the official EPA rating is yet to be confirmed. For comparison, the standard dual-motor EX30 achieves 253 miles per charge according to EPA estimates, meaning the rugged EX30 CC could see a slight reduction in range due to the all-terrain tires. Thanks to DC fast charging support, the battery can be replenished from 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes.

Pricing and Availability
Volvo has confirmed that the EX30 Cross Country will be available in the United States. While official pricing has not yet been announced, it is expected to carry a premium over the base model, which starts at $46,195 before optional features. With its blend of enhanced capability, stylish ruggedness, and impressive electric performance, the EX30 Cross Country is set to appeal to drivers looking for a more adventurous EV experience.
