Williams Racing has officially introduced its 2025 Formula 1 contender, the FW47, during an exclusive promotional event at Silverstone. Showcased in a unique one-off livery, the new car marks the next phase of the team’s ambitious long-term strategy to climb back to the top of the F1 grid.

Unveiling the FW47 at Silverstone

The highly anticipated launch took place on Friday morning, with fans, media, and team partners witnessing the reveal of Williams’ latest machine. The FW47 will soon hit the track for its competitive debut at the Australian Grand Prix, driven by the team’s fresh 2025 driver pairing, Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz.

While the promotional livery was on display at Silverstone, the official race livery is set to be revealed during the much-awaited F1 75 Live season launch event at The O2 in London on February 18.

Aiming for a Competitive Comeback

Williams is determined to make significant strides in performance after finishing ninth in the 2024 season. The FW47’s unveiling signals the team’s ongoing efforts to regain its competitive edge. As part of the event, team principal James Vowles joined Albon and Sainz in presenting the new challenger before Sainz took the car for its first shakedown laps around Silverstone.

For Sainz, this marks an exciting new chapter after his departure from Ferrari, having signed a multi-year contract with Williams. His experience and skillset are expected to play a crucial role in the team’s resurgence.

New Era with Atlassian as Title Sponsor

A standout feature of the FW47 is the prominent branding of Williams’ latest title sponsor, Atlassian. The software company’s partnership represents the most substantial commercial deal in the team’s 48-year history, reinforcing their commitment to long-term progress.

What’s Next for Williams?

Following the official livery reveal at F1 75 Live, Williams will gear up for the critical pre-season testing phase. The team will join the full F1 grid for testing sessions at the Bahrain International Circuit from February 26-28, fine-tuning the FW47 ahead of the 2025 campaign.

With an ambitious new driver lineup, a major sponsorship deal, and a refined car concept, Williams is setting its sights on an upward trajectory in the competitive world of Formula 1.
